Citizenship and Public Life

Christians live simultaneously as members of Christ’s church and as citizens of earthly communities. Scripture therefore gives substantial attention to truth, justice, authority, neighbor-love, and faithful conduct in public life.

The Steady Watchman will approach these questions by distinguishing biblical teaching from prudential political judgments. That distinction matters because Christians may share biblical commitments while reaching different conclusions about particular policies or political arrangements.

Future studies will examine relevant passages, historical context, constitutional principles, and contemporary policy questions.
